Manual Equipment Manufacturing Services
Lathes and Mills
CNC machine tools alone do not determine a machine shop’s delivery performance. Efficient manufacturing hinges on matching the equipment to the job at hand to achieve the best possible results. Manual lathes and mills are sometimes the most efficient tools for one off jobs, or to do repair work or provide tooling and support to the rest of the shop.
Additional Manual Equipment
Shears
Shears use a moving upper blade and a fixed lower blade to apply a shearing force to metal sheets of various thicknesses.
Bandsaws
A bandsaw is a power saw with a long sharp blade consisting of a continuous band of toothed metal stretched between two or more wheels. The blade itself can come in a variety of sizes and tooth pitches, which enables the machine to be highly versatile and cut a wide variety of materials.
Grinders
In general, precision metal grinding processes are used to remove small amounts of material in order to achieve a particular finish or tight tolerance dimensions on part surfaces.
Rotary Tables / Indexers
Adding a rotary axis is worthwhile when you want to do full 4 axis simultaneous machining of exotic workpieces, simple indexing of parts that need machining on surfaces not at 90 degrees from each other, or tombstone processing of rectangular parts that benefit from a longer unmanned machining process.
Bead Blasters
Bead blasting refers to the use of round spherical media that, when impacted against the surface of a part, will leave a more uniform finish caused by the sphere “dimpling” the surface. This process is most often used when a smooth uniform finish is required, and the part must have a dull “satin” finish.
